Will& Mandy

Hello!

We are Will and Mandy of Dallas, Texas. We admire and respect your consideration of an adoption plan for your child. We know that love for your child will guide you in making the best decision for you, your child, and your family.

A little bit about us...

We both grew up in north Louisiana. We met in September 1996, as freshmen at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana. Our first date was in October of that year, and through many long conversations on the phone and a lot of creative date nights (we lived in a small town), our relationship grew. We got engaged in August 1999 and married August 12, 2000. In May 2001 we graduated from college together - Mandy with her master's in history and Will with a professional architecture degree. In June 2001 we moved to Dallas and have enjoyed our adventures in the big city!

Will is 29 and has been working at WDG Architecture for six years, designing high-rise buildings - apartments, condos, and offices. Will is very creative - he dabbles in drawing and sculpture, he likes to build things (he built our kitchen table), and his current favorite hobby is photography with his fancy new camera. Fixing things is another favorite activity of Will's - he's made all kinds of repairs to our home as well as to his car. Will is also really fun - he sings around the house all the time and makes funny faces to make people laugh.

Mandy is 29 and currently holds two part time jobs: she teaches a couple of history classes each semester at North Lake College in Irving, and she also works part time at our church, Bent Tree Bible Fellowship, in Carrollton. Mandy is looking forward to spending most of her time at home after a baby is placed with our family. She plans to continue to teach a couple of classes (6 hrs a week) each semester, but will leave her other job to be a stay-at-home parent. Mandy enjoys reading (Harry Potter is her current favorite), assisting Will with home improvement projects, and attempting to grow flowers in our yard and on our patio. Everyone who knows Mandy admires her beautiful smile - her whole face lights up.

We are best friends who thoroughly enjoy spending time together. We like traveling to new places, going to museums and the theater, taking long walks around our neighborhood, spending time with family and friends, challenging each other to board games, and eating dinner together every night.

From the first time we talked about getting married, we've known that we want to be parents. After dealing with infertility for three years, we realize God has another plan for our family. We are very excited about the possibility of adoption!

Our parents (both sets of which have been married for at least 33 years) are overjoyed at the prospect of having their first grandchild! They (as well as our siblings) live in Louisiana, and we see them every couple of months and talk on the phone at least once a week. Our church family is also excited about the possibility of welcoming a new child.

Openness and honesty should characterize all relationships, and the adoption relationship is no different. We don't want to have any secrets in our family - we want a child placed with us to know his/her birth family, including their personalities and interests. We are excited about establishing this relationship and believe that maintaining it is important to us and to our child.
