For families in Texas, the domestic infant adoption program places newborns with Christian couples. Buckner works with birth parents during the pregnancy to determine a plan for the baby’s future. If they make a plan adoption, they choose the adoptive family. Then, with Buckner’s assistance, the birth parents and the adoptive family will begin a relationship and work together to build a plan for the openness for the life of their child. Buckner supports birth parents and the adoptive family through education, counseling and support groups.
"There’s really such a Christ-like comparison with adoption," Jeff said. "Chris and Amber made a decision that most people are not capable of making. I tell them all the time that someday they’ll realize how amazing they are."
