Buckner offers the following services to its domestic infant adoption families:
Social/Home study
Buckner completes a thorough screening and evaluation of prospective adoptive parents prior to approving them to adopt. Our social studies meet, and exceed the requirements set forth by the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services.
Parent education
Adoptive parenting is often referred to as “Parenting +Plus,” because adoptive parents have all the rights and responsibilities of other parents…plus a few more. Read more
Support services/ Family connections
With experienced and professional adoption staff readily available to answer your questions, Buckner also helps connect adoptive families with other resources and families in order to learn from one another and grow together. Post adoption services
Some adoptive parents may feel the need to counsel with a Buckner social worker for help in talking with their child about adoption, or for assistance in dealing with difficult issues in the child’s background. Buckner provides time limited counseling related to these and other adoption issues. Read more
